Robert Dekker, MD

Dr. Robert Dekker is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who has dedicated his career to the advanced treatment of foot and ankle disorders. He has a special interest in sports injuries, revision surgery and minimally-invasive techniques.

Dr. Dekker was raised in Rochester Hills, Michigan and is a graduate of Rochester High School. He attended Kalamazoo College on academic scholarship where he graduated magna cum laude with the distinction of highest honors in Biology and was elected into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Dekker attended medical school at the University of Michigan. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. He then completed a fellowship at the world-renowned Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Dekker is passionate about evidence-based care for common and complex foot and ankle conditions. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on minimally invasive Achilles tendon rupture repair, safety and outcomes after ankle fracture surgery, and total ankle replacement vs. fusion for ankle arthritis. He has presented research at national symposiums and is a member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS).

Dr. Dekker believes in a patient-centered approach. Most patients with foot and ankle problems do not need surgery and can be effectively managed with bracing, orthotics, physical therapy or injections. However, when surgery is needed, he believes that advanced surgical care, rehabilitation and recovery management lead to the best patient outcomes. A personalized and caring approach is what patients can expect when consulting with Dr. Dekker.

Dr. Dekker and his wife Dr. Stefanie Sherman, an Ophthalmologist in Clarkston, MI are excited to be practicing in Southeast Michigan after training throughout the country. In his spare time, Dr. Dekker enjoys golf, swimming, traveling and cooking.

Nathan Marshall, MD

Dr. Nate Marshall is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in sports medicine. He is a Michigan native, growing up in Western Michigan and has been in the Detroit area for over 10 years.

He completed his undergraduate training at Albion College in Biochemistry. He served as captain of the varsity tennis team and was recently inducted into the Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame. He then attended Wayne State University School of Medicine receiving several honors during medical school as well as obtaining membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honors society. He completed his orthopedic residency at Henry Ford Hospital in which he was named Chief Administrative Resident his senior year. He continues his involvement with the medical school as an active member of the Admissions Committee.

In further pursuit of his passion for sports medicine, he completed his sports and shoulder fellowship at the world renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California. As the first sports medicine fellowship ever established, Kerlan- Jobe has been an innovator in the field of sports, having invented Tommy John Surgery, it has become one of the preeminent programs in the country. During his fellowship, Dr. Marshall participated in the treatment of professional athletes around the country and covered professional teams including the Los Angeles Rams, Kings, Dodgers, Sparks, Anaheim Ducks and the NFL Combine.

Throughout his career, Dr. Marshall has published more than 25 peer-reviewed studies including multiple studies on Tommy John surgery in MLB athletes and other studies on ACL tears, hamstring tears, bicep ruptures and other musculoskeletal injuries. He has presented at multiple national conferences and is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Michigan Orthopedic Society (MOS).

Dr. Marshall treats a variety of conditions. He uses minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques to treat rotator cuff tears, shoulder dislocations and labral tears. He also treats ligament, tendon and joint injuries of the elbow and performs arthroscopic hip surgery to treat labral tears and hip preservation. He also specializes in knee surgery including arthroscopic ACL surgery, cartilage restoration, patella dislocations and meniscal surgery. Fracture care is also an important aspect to his practice including hip fractures, clavicle, ankle, wrist and fractures of the arm.

Beyond surgical treatment, Dr. Marshall and his team work together to offer all options to patients including top of the line, innovative physical therapy treatments and biologic injections including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and cell based treatments like stem cells.

Ginger Connor, MD, FACOG

Ginger Connor, MD, FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist and specializes in minimally invasive surgical procedures, adolescent care, infertility, and perimenopausal problems. She is passionate in treating endometriosis, uterine fibroids, patients with heavy menstrual bleeding conditions, and managing irregular menstrual bleeding patterns.

Dr. Connor believes in a mutually committed doctor-patient relationship and the delivery of superior, evidence-based medicine. She understands that all women are unique and, therefore, customizes her care to provide her patients with individualized treatment plans.

Her treatment approaches include a mix of medical, naturopathic, and surgical methods. As a gynecologic surgeon, she specializes in minimally invasive surgical procedures including laparoscopy and robotic surgery.

Dr. Connor grew up in Southeast Michigan. While staying loyal to her home state roots, she attended Hope College and pursued her medical studies at Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrical and Gynecologic care at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

In addition to being board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Connor is a member of many groups including the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and the American Medical Students Association. She also received the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honorary Award.

Dr. Connor is actively involved in the local community through organizing fundraising and team-building activities. Outside of her practice, Dr. Connor enjoys hiking, backpacking, reading novels, camping, windsurfing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Erin Bouhana, DO, FACOG

Erin Bouhana, DO, FACOG is a skilled and compassionate board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist specializing in infertility, uterine fibroids, menopause, gynecologic concerns, and pelvic pain issues in women. She is committed to quality patient care and strives to educate her patients throughout their healthcare journey.

Dr. Bouhana knows that when it comes to your health, there’s nothing more important than trust. She understands the importance of taking time to learn about her patients, listen to their concerns, and address their needs with exceptional care. Dr. Bouhana’s services are well-rounded and include standard gynecologic care, complex gynecologic care, and high level surgical techniques.

She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Metro Health Hospital.

Dr. Bouhana is an active member of many medical societies including the American Congress of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American Women’s Medical Association.

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring her hometown of Royal Oak, Michigan with her family. She also enjoys staying active by cycling, dancing, and weight training. To relax, she enjoys reading.

Kristen Kent, MD is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist. She graduated from American University of the Caribbean Montserrat (British West Indies).

Mykola Bartkiw, DO

Mykola J. Bartkiw, DO is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with additional fellowship training in hand and microsurgery, with a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQH) in hand surgery.

Bartkiw graduated Magna Cum Laude from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After residency in orthopedic surgery, through Michigan State University-Pontiac, he completed fellowship at the premier Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center. He has additional training in Advanced Microsurgery through Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Bartkiw was recognized for excellence in Detroit Hour magazine's 2017 and 2016 Top Docs issue and honored for his work in Hand Surgery. He has authored several articles and book chapters on orthopedic trauma, upper extremity surgery and related subjects. Dr. Bartkiw uses advanced techniques in the medical and surgical treatment of conditions relating to the hand, wrist, and upper extremity.

Nicholas Frisch, MD

Nicholas B Frisch, MD|MBA is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont and his Masters in Medical Science from Loyola University in Chicago. He achieved his MD and MBD in Healthcare Management from Tufts University School of Medicine in Massachusetts. Dr. Frisch completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and he received his fellowship training in Adult Reconstructive at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Frisch's practice focuses on minimally invasive hip and knee joint replacement and complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement. He utilizes efficient pain management pathways which allow for rapid recovery and a faster return to normal activity.

Clinical research is an important part of Dr. Frisch's practice and as a newly appointed Health Policy Fellow for the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) he is actively engaged in advocacy for his patients and the Orthopedic community.

Robert Keller, MD

Robert A. Keller, MD is a fellowship trained sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship from the world renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Keller has a special interest in caring for athletes of all ages. Additionally, Dr. Keller has an interest in Cartilage Restoration, Stem Cells, and Biologics.

Dr. Keller provides minimally-invasive, state-of-the-art surgical techniques for his patients. Driven by the desire to obtain optimal outcomes for his patients, Dr. Keller has published and presented clinical and laboratory research both nationally and internationally. Dr. Keller has led research on the highest level of athletes, publishing literature on NFL, NBA, and MLB athletes. He is also a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine and the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

His practice has an emphasis on: arthroscopic shoulder surgery (rotator cuff repair and shoulder stabilization/labrum repair); arthroscopic knee surgery and ligament reconstruction (ACL surgery); shoulder replacement (including conventional and reverse replacement); elbow arthroscopy/ligament reconstruction; and hip arthroscopy.

A native of San Diego, CA, Dr. Keller attended college at Washington University in St. Louis, where he was the captain of the men's basketball team. He then graduated with Honors from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Residency training was completed in Orthopaedic Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. While in residency, Dr. Keller was honored by being named Chief Resident, winning the Outstanding Resident Teacher Award, winning a variety of resident research awards, and developed multiple healthcare related patents. Dr. Keller then completed a sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship at the world renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA. During fellowship, Dr. Keller was an assistant team physician to numerous professional and college teams including the Los Angeles Rams, LA Dodgers, LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and USC Football.

Dr. Keller is a member of many professional organizations, including: American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Keller continually strives to bring the highest level of care to his patients. Shivajee Nallamothu, DO

Dr. Shivajee Nallamothu is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1994. He completed both his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Michigan State University, McLaren Oakland, where he served as chief resident. After completing his residency in 1999, Dr. Nallamothu went into private practice with an orthopedic group before founding Michigan Center for Orthopedic Surgery in 2003.

Dr. Nallamothu was recognized by his peers as one of the area's top orthopedic surgeons. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedics, American Osteopathic Association, Michigan Orthopedic Society and Michigan State Medical Society.

According to Dr. Nallamothu, "I work to develop a partnership with my patients. On my part, this begins with listening. One of the most important things I need to know is how the physical problem affects this patient's life. We develop a dialogue, through which my patients understand the diagnostic process, their own unique problem, their treatment choices, and the recovery process. Ryan Siwiec, DO

Dr Ryan Siwiec is an orthopedic surgeon with additional fellowship training in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame and went on to study biophysics and physiology at Georgetown University. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Michigan State University McLaren Oakland, where he served as chief resident.

He is fellowship trained in arthroscopy and sports medicine from the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama where he learned complex arthroscopic and open surgical techniques to treat injuries to the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle including joint reconstruction. While in Alabama he treated athletes at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.

He currently is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and continues to be involved in medical student and resident education.

Dr. Siwiec is an Orthopedic Team Physician for Oakland University Athletics. He also serves as a member of the USSA Physician Pool providing medical coverage for the US Ski Team.

Dr. Siwiec has volunteered and trained on international medical missions to the Philippines, Central Africa, and the Amazon of Brazil. Locally, he is an active volunteer with Michigan Adaptive Sports, a chapter of Disabled Sports USA, teaching downhill skiing to persons with disabilities.

John Olenyn, DO

John R. Olenyn, DO is a board certified orthopedic surgeon since 1988, who specializes in total joint replacement surgery utilizing minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Dr. Olenyn received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He then completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Henry Ford Hospital and subsequently was in the U.S. Air Force, serving as the Chief of Orthopedic Services at Homestead Air Force Base. Dr. Olenyn was also a flight surgeon in the Michigan Air National Guard at Selfridge Air Force Base.

He was named as one of Detroit's "Top Doctors" in orthopedic surgery by Detroit Hour magazine in 2006. He has been quoted in the Crittenton Hospital Wellspring magazine and the Lansing Journal. He was interviewed along with one of his patients by WDIV for a TV segment regarding minimally invasive total hip replacement. He is a frequent speaker to groups, with subjects ranging from minimally invasive total hip and knee replacement to pediatric orthopedic conditions.

Dr. Matthew Prince DO

Dr. Matthew Prince is an orthopedic surgeon with additional fellowship training in Orthopedic sports medicine.

Dr. Prince completed his undergraduate degree in Physiology at the University of Colorado. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009. Matt completed his orthopedic surgery residency through Michigan State University at McLaren Oakland and the Detroit Medical Center. Following residency he continued subspecialty training with his fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the Mayo Clinic.

While in fellowship Dr. Prince assisted as Team Physician for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Twins, and Rochester Ice Hawks. Surgically he focused on complex arthroscopic and open surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee.

His practice focuses on both surgical and non-surgical management of general orthopedic and sports related injuries. He has special interest in joint preservation and arthroscopy of the shoulder, hip, and knee.

Dr. Prince is an assistant clinical professor for Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a Team Physician for the U.S. Ski Team and the U.S. Freestyle Team.

He has published numerous articles and textbook chapters on surgical management of multiligamentous knee injuries, meniscal tears, and cartilage injury.

Jeffrey DeClaire, MD

Jeffrey H. DeClaire, MD is a board certified and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in Rochester, Michigan. Dr. DeClaire specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of conditions relating to the knee, having preformed nearly 1,000 surgeries per year.

Dr. DeClaire earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He completed a surgical residency program at Wayne State University in Detroit and an orthopedic residency at University of Michigan Hospitals. He also completed his sports medicine fellowship program, which concentrated on knee injuries and disorders, at Penn State University's Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.

Governor John Engler awarded the Outstanding Physician of the Year Award to Dr. DeClaire in 1997. Dr. DeClaire was selected as one of Detroit "Top Doc's" for the second time in October 2006 by Detroit Hour Magazine. He is a leader in developing the minimally invasive surgery (MIS) procedure for total knee replacement and has also developed the Patellofemoral surgical procedure. Michael Donahue, DO

Dr. Michael Donahue is a board-certified fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with select interest in the fields of minimally invasive spinal surgery and orthopedic foot and ankle surgery. He has over 20 years of experience in orthopedic surgery and is dedicated to maximizing conservative care and exploring less invasive options prior to offering surgical alternatives. These less invasive options may include physical therapy, bracing, chiropractic care and injections. If surgery is necessary, he has vast experience in all aspects of spinal surgery from minimally invasive to complex reconstruction. Dr. Donahue continues to be active in continuing medical education by holding national speaking roles at the Orthopedic Academy as well as being an integral part of the MSU orthopedic residency program.

Dr. Donahue earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1995 graduating with honors. After residency, he completed his fellowships at the prestigious Scoliosis and Spine Surgery of Maryland under the chairman of Johns Hopkins University, also foot and ankle surgery at Michigan International Foot and Ankle Center. He practiced as an orthopedic trauma surgeon at a level 1 trauma Center in Las Vegas Nevada and also served in the United States Navy as a senior medical group officer with the U.S. Marine Corps. He returned to Michigan and has been working greater than 10 years with the Center for Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

Andrew Ciarlone, DO

Dr. Andrew Ciarlone specializes in joint replacement surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder. He has been a pioneer in outpatient joint replacement and rapid recovery protocols following joint replacement. He developed the "Rapid Hip Recovery" protocol at Crittenton Hospital designed for same day discharge home after hip replacement surgery. He was the first surgeon in Michigan to perform Outpatient Hip replacement at a surgery center with "same-day" discharge, at Bald Mountain Surgery Center in Lake Orion, MI. He utilizes minimally invasive surgical techniques including the Direct anterior approach to hip replacement, and less invasive techniques for total knee and partial knee replacements. He is one of only 5% of surgeons nationwide that perform the Direct Anterior Approach Hip Replacement and has performed over 500 of these procedures.

Dr. Ciarlone also treats sports related injuries and performs arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. He also cares for trauma patients and fractures with both surgical and non surgical treatment.

Dr. Ciarlone enjoys Golf, Skiing and Woodworking in his free time. He and his wife, Janell are also very busy with their 4 children, Drew, Luciana, Owen and Ben. All of their children are involved in sports activities including lacrosse, soccer and swimming.

Megan Strauchman, DO

Dr. Strauchman is the medical director of Natural Wellness and Pain Relief Center. She is board certified in integrative medicine, and is fellowship trained by the American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine. She has also earned Diplomate status from the American Association of Integrative Medicine. Much of her practice is dedicated to hormone replacement with the use of bio-identical hormones, as well as pain management strategies like MUA and prolotherapy. She is most noted for taking care of many area doctors and their families for their own chronic health problems. With a background as an OB/GYN, she has a unique insight into Women's Health and menopausal symptoms.

Daniel Greene, MD

Dr. Daniel Greene specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, East Lansing, MI. Dr. Greene completed his Residency at Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn, MI, where he was Chief Resident in 1995. Kelly Gumbrecht, MD

Dr. Gumbrecht received her Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from American University of the Caribbean, St. Martin. She completed her Residency at St. John Hospital Medical Center, where she was Chief Resident in 2008. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Gouri Pimputkar, DO

Dr. Pimputkar received her Bachelor’s Degree from University of Michigan. She then went on to achieve her medical degree at Wayne State School of Medicine, Detroit, MI and at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. She completed her residency at St. John Health System, Detroit, MI and Henry Ford Horizon Health System, Detroit, MI. Amy Wright, MD

Jonathan Zaidan, MD

Dr. Zaidan is a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist specializing in minimally invasive surgery via laparoscopic, robotic and vaginal methods. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

Kenneth Bark, MD

After spending his youth in Michigan and graduating from Andover High School and Kalamazoo College, Dr. Bark earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He trained in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery with a heavy emphasis on minimally invasive surgery at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital/Columbia University in Cooperstown, NY and Presbyterian/UT Southwestern Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX, respectively.

Dr. Bark is often asked, "what made you want to go into this field?" – Aside from numerous influential mentors and the ability to prevent and cure colorectal cancers, he discovered the joy of helping people in all aspects of colon and rectal surgery including inflammatory bowel disease, and anorectal disease.

Dr. Bark considers himself fortunate to have found a profession that he enjoys and relishes the opportunity to help those in need of his services. In his free time, he spends time with his wife, Soyoun, being amateur foodies, cooking, and traveling the world. He also enjoys photography, tennis, basketball, and golf.

"Bark" doesn't sound Korean to you? There's a good story behind that so ask about it the next time you see him in the office.

Jon Hain, MD

Dr. Hain got his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his post doctoral training at the University of Minnesota and his research fellowships at the University of Michigan. He is board certified by the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

He has given numerous lectures at the state and national level regarding colon and rectal surgery. Dr Hain's interest in colon and rectal surgery was initiated by his grandfather's bout with rectal cancer and his early surgical mentors.

Sarah Hans, MD

Dr. Hans grew up in Cleveland, OH. After receiving her undergraduate degree in political science from Brown University, she returned to the Midwest for medical school at Northeastern Ohio Medical University. She trained in general surgery at St. John Hospital. She completed her fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Mount Carmel in Columbus, OH.

Dr. Hans often hears the question "What made you go into colon and rectal surgery?" One of her favorite things about the field is the opportunity for continuity of care in treating patients with inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. She also enjoys performing a variety of procedures, from office-based treatments to colonoscopies to anorectal and abdominal surgeries.

In her free time, Dr. Hans enjoys playing and watching sports, especially golf, soccer, and softball. She also loves trying new restaurants and traveling.

Raymond Landes, MD

Dr. Landes grew up in the Chicago suburbs. He attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate studies, then completed his medical degree and surgical residency at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine. He completed his colorectal fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak.

He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Landes' interest in colorectal surgery arose from his exposure to his father's career in general surgery, but he preferred specialize in a single surgical discipline. He enjoys the broad range of colorectal topics including cancer surgery, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and anorectal surgery.

Dr. Landes' wife is also a physician. They have two lovely daughters. Dr. Landes is a pilot and is also active in music playing French horn.

Lynda Michelle Mosed-Vogel, MD

Dr. Mosed-Vogel went into colorectal surgery because she loved surgery, yet wanted to be an expert in one area of the body. Her uncle died of colon cancer at 36, and Dr. Mosed-Vogel wants to educate people about the importance of prevention.

Dr. Mosed-Vogel earned her medical degree from Wayne State University and completed both her post doctoral training and research fellowships at William Beaumont Hospital. She is board certified by the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Dr. Mosed-Vogel has given talks on a variety of subjects, including inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer prevention. Her goal is to make patients feel comfortable, despite the rather uncomfortable nature of their problems.

Dr. Mosed-Vogel's second full-time job is as a wife and mother of three sons.

Renato Albaran, MD

Dr. Albran is Board-Certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery. He obtained his Medical Degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Residency at The Detroit Medical Center in General Surgery. Dr. Albran is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of General Surgery Wayne State University at the Detroit Medical Center. He has Authored, "CD4 Counts as a Prognostic Factor of Major Abdominal Surgery in HIV Patients" in Archives of Surgery, 1998.

Dr. Keith Hinshaw MD, FACS

Dr. Hinshaw is a Clinical Associate Professor for the Department of Surgery at Wayne State University, Detroit Medical Center. He is a member of a number of professional associations including the American Hernia Society, American Medical Association, Detroit Academy of Surgery, Detroit Surgical Association, Michigan State Medical Society, Oakland County Medical Society, and the Midwest Surgical Association.

Charles Colombo, MD

Ophthalmologist. He has been practicing in this area for the past 39 years and has established an outstanding reputation for providing excellent quality medical care to his patients. He graduated from the University of Ottawa Medical School in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Colombo received his specialty training in Ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa. He is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Colombo is the former Chief of Ophthalmology at Beaumont Hospitals-Troy. He is currently an Associate Professor for the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Dr. Colombo is on staff at both Troy Beaumont and Crittenton Hospital.

Roxana Hakimzadeh, MD

Dr. Hakimzadeh received her Medical degree from Tulane University, in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1992, and her residency at Wayne State University’s Kresge Eye Institute in 1997. Doctor Hakimzadeh received her board certification in ophthalmology from the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been in private practice since 1997. She specializes in cataract surgery, LASIK surgery, and diagnosis and treatment of major eye diseases such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. She is a member of a number of professional societies including, The American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and International Society of refractive Surgery.Dr. Hakimzadeh performs no stitch, small incision cataract surgery, including premium presbyopia correcting cataract surgery.

Mark Weingarten, MD

Mark Weingarten, M.D., graduated from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. He is board certified in Ophthalmology and a certified laser eye surgeon. Dr. Weingarten is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

As a highly recognized Detroit and Rochester, MI LASIK surgeon, Dr. Weingarten is on staff at Crittenton Medical Center in Rochester, Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, the Detroit Medical Center, and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland.

Rajeev Sehgal, DPM

Dr. Sehgal received his Bachelor of Sciences in Physiology form Michigan State University in 1990. He then went on to William M Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL, where he earned a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree, graduating in 1995. Dr. Seghal completed his Residency at Oakwood in 1997. While at Oakwood he was named Chief Resident and focused his studies on surgery of the foot and ankle with emphasis on trauma, AO fixation, and industrial medicine at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Seghal is a member of the teaching faculty at Botsford General Hospital for the Podiatric Surgical Residency Program. Dr. Seghal was named an Assistant Professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He is currently a member of a number of professional organizations and sits as a consultant for many law firms.

Dr. Adrienne Wells, M.D.

Dr. Wells joined Michigan Institute for Advanced Surgery (MIAS) in 2018 as our staff Anesthesiologist and Medical Director. Dr. Wells is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist by the American Board of Anesthesiology. She brings a wealth of knowledge to MIAS. Dr. Wells earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Pre-Medicine at Taylor University in Indiana. She then achieved a Doctor of Medicine degree form Rush University in Chicago, IL and completed her Residency at Duke University Medical Center where she was Chief Resident in 2001-2002. She continued her career at a major University medical center, where she was an Assistant Professor, Attending, and Director of Regional Anesthesia. She was instrumental in establishing the regional anesthesia subspecialty that included the development, implementation, and responsibility for the Peripheral Nerve Catheter Placement Program, Ambulatory Home Program, Ultrasound Guided Nerve Block Assisted Placement Program, and Regional Anesthesia Rotation.

Dr. Wells has facilitated the care for over 900 joint replacements annually as well as many other types of orthopedic procedures. She was personally selected by the performing surgeon to perform anesthesia for a Former President of the United States. Dr. Wells is currently a member of many professional organizations including International Anesthesia Research Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, and Illinois Society of Anesthesiology.

Asha Downs, DO

Dr. Asha J. Downs, D.O. is board certified in Otolaryngology. Dr. Downs is a 1999 graduate of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her ENT/Facial Plastics residency at McLaren Oakland Medical Center- Pontiac in Pontiac, Michigan in 2004.

Todd Nida, MD

Dr. Nida places the highest priority on improving patient quality of life and function beginning with a thorough evaluation. He uses non-surgical options, and microscopic and minimally invasive surgical procedures, including Gamma Knife, computer assisted stereotactic guidance. His expertise is the management of complex spinal problems involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar sacral areas, and, pain from vertebral osteoporotic or pathological fractures that has been successfully minimized with Kyphoplasty.

His research interests included traumatic brain injury. He has presented his research findings and written many publications including textbooks sections. He is involved in teaching medical students and surgical residents.
